Christmas in July!

I can't believe Christmas is less than 5 months away! I feel like we just celebrated last Christmas! To get in the holiday spirit a few of my friends and I decided to get together and paint again! The painting for this day was a Christmas wreath or Christmas tree. This painting was definitely one of the hardest ones I've done. I did the Christmas wreath and it's completely made of circles. The circles were so hard to make. I think I would have liked doing the Christmas tree better, but the wreath did turn out okay. We had a great time laughing and painting together! All we were missing was cooler weather and some Christmas music!

Pinterest and Friends

Wow! It's been a while since I've had a chance to blog. I've been super busy writing a research paper, going to class, and trying to get ready for school. Every time I have a free moment, I seem to fall asleep. This week I've had a chance to get some school shopping done. Brent and I even got a chance to go shopping for new clothes too! I love buying new things for my classroom. This year we're doing a "sweets" theme. It's going to be cute! More to come on that later....

I've had a chance to visit with several of our friends lately. Last week we got together and went to Mellow Mushroom. We had a great time together. Grayson even got to open her first birthday present with us! Lindsay also came and spent the weekend with us! We had a great time hanging out together! We even had a cool night so we got to have a bonfire and make some smores. Yum!

I now have a new obsession...Pinterest! I've seen it on blogs for a few months and decided to check it out about 3 weeks ago. I already have so many pins! There are so many awesome ideas! There is not enough time in the day to do all the crafts I want to do! I've found great ideas for my classroom too! It's really a neat place to find ideas. Since they have an app on my phone, a lot of my day is spent looking at it.

Busy Week

It's been such a busy week I haven't had much time for blogging. I began my 2nd graduate class on Monday. It's a research class, so all we are doing is researching and writing a paper. It's proven to be harder than I first imagined. I like our professor and I enjoy being with Amy in class. It's always fun to have a friend with you. Only 5 more days and I'll be done with the class! Since I now I have get up at 6:30, I'm coming home and napping each afternoon. It's really wearing me out, but I'm also losing my afternoons. I'll have to do better this week.

On Wednesday night, all my teacher friends met together for a going-away party for one of our fellow teachers. We had the best time! We seriously laughed for 3 hours. I love them so much! I got teary-eyed yesterday talking with Brent about the possibility of us being split up next year. I'm so thankful to work with wonderful ladies!

I'm so happy today is Friday! I just love Fridays! I've had a wonderful lunch with 2 friends and now I'm getting ready to enjoy the weekend. Lindsay is here for the weekend, so we're excited to have her here. Definitely looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow! Enjoy your weekend!

5 Things I'm Thinking Today....

1. I need to start some craft project soon. Everyone I know is doing craft projects and I feel like I need to do something cute.
2. I'm about to start my research class on Monday. Don't know if I'm quite ready to start back to school. I strive for perfection, so sometimes I get really worn out trying to be the best. I'm going to do my best and that's all I can do. I'm really not looking forward to writing a research paper in 2 weeks.
3. I'm ready for school to start back. I'm ready for a new crop of kids and a fresh start. I love that I have a job that I can start fresh each year. I want to try some new positive reinforcement and I'm really looking forward to a new school year.
4. I feel like I need to start some sort of business. I would love to start a painting place here just like the places I've been lately. Also, the movie theater and restaurant would be great. Any financial backers available?
5. I really enjoy watching TV. I've been wrapped up in the Casey Anthony Trial for the past 3 weeks. What will I watch now? I love Big Brother too! Also, I found a new show, Cupcakes Girls, which is really cute!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Beach Vacation

This past week Brent and I went on a vacation to Charleston. We had a great time celebrating our anniversary a few weeks late! It was so nice to get away for a few days and enjoy the beach! When we usually go to Charleston it is a quick trip and we don't really get to enjoy the beach. This week, we went to the beach every day. I finished 2 books and got some sun! It was wonderful! I got a little too much sun one day, so I had to stay under the umbrella the next day. Brent loves to swim in the ocean and fish. (He caught a stingray.) I would rather sit in my beach chair and read or go for a walk. My favorite time on the beach is about 5pm when most people are off the beach and the sun is starting to set. It's a beautiful and relaxing time to be on the beach.

When we weren't soaking up rays, we were staying busy. We got to eat at Taco Boy, which everyone always tells us is a great place to eat. We got see the fireworks on the 4th. We went to the Cinnebarre, which is a movie theater where you can eat. It was really cool! It's just like a restaurant at the movies. We saw Bridesmaids, which was really cute! Brent and I have decided we should open one here.

We also went to Bottles and Brushes and painted another painting. I'm about all painted out now. We now have 5 canvases at our house. This was my favorite picture because it's a Palmetto tree. The last day we went to Fort Moultrie. Brent and I love history so we always love to explore new places when we are on vacation. It would have been rough to be a Patriot in the Fort because it was so hot! I took a lot of pictures that I can use in my classroom next year. We also spent the day shopping! We went to a great teacher store in Charleston and Brent got his first teacher item.

We had a great time together and we're already planning trips for next year!

The Weekend!

We had a great and busy weekend! It was full of spending time with friends and family which is always so much fun! Friday night, we met Katie and Richard in Clemson for dinner at Mellow Mushroom and Spill the Beans. On Saturday night, we went with Josh and Lindsay to Sips and Strokes in Greenville. I was excited to get to paint again. We painted a pink flower with a black background. We had a great time together even though some people (Brent) didn't like his flower very much. We now have to find places to put 2 pink flowers in our house. Brent has a chance to redeem himself this week because we are going to paint again. I think I'm going to be an artist after all this painting. I really would love to open up an art place here in town. It would be so much fun. (I would not be the artist. Just the person in charge.)

Today we got to celebrate Jackson's baptism with Brent's family. It was a great time and we really enjoyed brunch at Larkin's in Greenville. My french toast was so yummy! Jackson is growing up so fast. He's one month old tomorrow!

After a busy weekend, we are looking forward to a week of relaxation and fun at the beach! Can't wait!

Good times with the kids

This week has been a great week! I've moved a lot of stuff from my parents house and I've gotten some rest. I've been all involved in the Casey Anthony trial. My mom and I spend a lot of time watching it during the day. I got to see Candice and we got our nails done together! It's such a nice treat! We've also got to spend some time with some of our favorite people......

Brent and I love spending time with the kids in our lives. We are so blessed to have friends and family that have wonderful kids. During the summer, we get to spend extra time together.

We love seeing Jackson! He's growing so much each day! We're so excited to be his aunt and uncle and can't wait to watch him grow up!

We've got to spend time with the Iveys this summer too! We had a great slumber party and hope they come back soon. They love to play MarioKart with Brent while they are at our house.

Ready to play!

Grayson is always so fun to be around! She's so cute and so sweet! We love watching her smile and crawl over the house. We even got to swim together. She loves the water!
