I've been working hard to get a good Christmas picture this year. Last year, my computer broke so I wasn't really happy with the picture I ended up using. I'm lucky that Brent puts up with all my photo trials. Here's a look at all our pictures we tried. We'll see which one I actually use. At least it puts me in the Christmas spirit!

What I've been up to....
It's been busy in the Jackson household lately. Here are some of the things we've had going on.
- I got a new haircut! I decided to finally get a short haircut and I really love it!
- We're having a baby on our 3rd grade hall! We are all so excited for Amy. We decorated the hallway and her door last week.
- The 3rd grade teachers went to the Melting Pot. It's so yummy!
- Our Tigers are killing us! We were doing so well, then we bombed our game on Saturday.
- I finished my 5th graduate class. Only 6 more to go!
- We went to the Festival of Trees on Friday night and a Holiday Market on Saturday. It's fun to begin the Christmas season.

Happy Halloween and some Fall Fun!
This Halloween was very low key in the Jackson household. We got back from our beach vacation and wanted to enjoy the rest of our Fall Break. I enjoyed catching up on the DVR throughout the day and getting lots of rest. We stayed at home and had a few guests. Jackson, Grayson, and the Iveys came to visit us. They all looked so cute in their costumes. Other than our guests, we only had 1 trick-or-treater! I was so upset! I was hoping for some more since this was my first time being at home on Halloween.

I've enjoyed making lots of fun crafts and goodies for Halloween. My kids loved their Halloween goodies at school!

Other than Halloween, Brent and I have enjoyed cheering on our Tigers and decorating the house. I love this time of year so much! I'm hoping to convince Brent to head up to the mountains this weekend to enjoy some beautiful weather!

Fall Break at the Beach
We had a 5 day weekend this past weekend for Fall Break! It was much needed and I enjoyed every second of it. I got spoiled being off of work and now I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving Break.
After finishing a paper on Friday morning, Brent and I headed to Litchfield to meet his family. It was a long trip down, but we finally made it to the condo late Friday night. The Ivey children and Jackson were excited to see us.
On Saturday, we spent the day shopping at the Hammock Shops and going out to eat. Brent and I tried to go to the beach but it was too cold and too windy. It was fun being out on the beach in October. Brent and the kids went swimming in the indoor pool. They even tried the lazy river! Too cold for me! Saturday evening we ordered pizza and watched the Clemson/GA Tech game. Unfortunately, we got our first loss of the season.
On Sunday, we took some pictures on the beach and then headed to Charleston. We ate at Your Pie and went downtown with Candice. It was great to spend some time with Candice and Drew. The rest our break has been full of resting and cleaning! It was a great break!

Pumpkin Book Reports
In my classroom, we've been studying story elements in books. I decided to do a fun project I found online with my kids for Halloween. Each group of kids read a picture book and completed a book report on the story elements. Then the group designed the main character of the book on a pumpkin. We brainstormed, sketched, and then made our models. Each group painted and decorated a pumpkin of their book character. They turned out wonderful! I am so proud of my 3rd graders!! Take a look at our pumpkin characters.
