Happy Easter

Happy Easter! (You can tell I had my nap today from the picture.) We celebrated with a wonderful Easter service at church and then lunch with Brent's family and dinner with my family. We got lots of great goodies in our Easter baskets and even got to hunt a few eggs! Got to get to bed soon, my birthday week begins!!

Time for Crafts!

This week has been full of crafts and pampering for myself. On Tuesday, my 3rd grade friends and I went to the Beaded Tiger and made jewelery. I made a watch because I thought I would get the most use out of it. We had fun picking out jewelry, eating, and just being together.

We had Field Day this week, so I needed some pampering. On Friday my friend and I got a pedicure. I haven't had one in so long, so it was much needed! I unfortunately messed it up when I put my shoes on, but I still love them! I've also been doing lots of birthday shopping for myself. I love all my new Lindsay Phillips shoes. They are so cute!

Today I've been getting ready for Easter. Brent and I dyed eggs together and then I made Egg Rice Krispy Treats and Pink Lemonade Cupcakes (isn't the straw so cute?). I can't wait to show them off tomorrow at Easter lunch!

Wedding flashback

Brent and I have been married 10 months today! Time is flying! We're working on planning our anniversary trip right now. I'm a little short on time today and ready to hit the sack so I'm just going to show a few pictures from our wedding. Our pictures were done by Rebecca Perkins Photography! She's great! On the 19th of each month, I hope to share some of the great things we did at our wedding! It was so much fun and I even miss the planning! Enjoy!

Busy Week

It was hard getting back in the swing of things this week. I came home and took a nap 3 days this week. The kids really wore me out! Brent and I had a relaxing weekend of eating, sleeping, and cleaning. It's been nice. My birthday week is coming up so I'm working on plans right now. Can't wait!

Jackson's Baby Shower

My sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth is having her first baby this June. We are all super excited because it will be the first baby in the family. Brent and I are excited to be an Aunt and Uncle. This weekend my Mom and I threw a baby shower for Mary Elizabeth and Jackson at my house. My Mom is so creative and talented. We were so excited to showcase some of our new crafts and goodies. We spent all week preparing and I'd had to say everything went great. My mom and I are last minute workers, so we were working right up until the shower started. We work best under pressure. The decorations and food were great and Mary Elizabeth got some wonderful gifts! Some of my favorites from the shower were the tissue balls, It's a Boy burlap sign, the cupcakes, and our water bottle labels. I made my first diaper cake too and it turned out great. My favorite craft was our fingerprint tree on the canvas. Each person stamped their fingerprint on the tree and wrote their name. It's so cute! It was a great shower and nice to show off my house to all our family. We can't wait for baby Jackson to be here!

Spring Break

We love Spring Break in the Jackson household! One of the great things about being a teacher is Spring Break! It comes at a perfect time this year because it's before Easter and when we go back to school we have exactly 9 weeks left. Brent and I have been super busy so it hasn't been very relaxing. Here's what our week has looked like:

Saturday and Sunday:

I had a baby shower and a wedding. Jenni's wedding went great! Everybody looked beautiful! We got a really cute handkerchief at the bridal luncheon.

 

Monday and  Tuesday:

We headed down to Charleston to visit Candice. It was a quick trip, but lots of fun. Candice still had school, so we didn't get to stay up too late. It was fun just catching up with Candice and talking like old times. I miss her living close to me! Brent and I headed to the beach to soak up some rays. I ended up covered in my towel because it was so breezy. I'm too much of a southern girl.....I love the beach in June and July when it's hot!

Wednesday-Friday

We've been majorly working on our house this week. This has been the first time we've had a lot of time to get things done. Brent's been working outside and I've been getting things together inside. We got a new rug, pillows, and other cute things. I've ordered a canvas I'm waiting on to put up in the dining room. I love decorating; I just need more money! It can be very expensive. We bought some patio furniture at Home Depot. Brent and the boys put it together and now it looks great on the deck. We can't wait to use it this summer and grill out with our friends.

Now we're getting ready for the baby shower tomorrow.......Lots of cute things to share that my Mom and I have made. :)

Haircut

I've wanted to cut my hair for a long time. The new style seems to be shorter hair. Every time I would go to my hairdresser I would change my mind. This past Friday I cut about 4 inches off my hair. I love it! I definitely think it looks better.

I've been trying to start a blog for about 8 months now. Every time I started, I would change my mind about the title or get too busy. It's Spring Break, so I figured it was a great time to start! I love to read blogs, so I want to share my thoughts too. Enjoy!
